Professional Objective Senior business or counsel position with energy company or financial institution drawing on 25 years of experience in (1) structuring and closing energy industry acquisitions, financings and restructurings worldwide, (2) resolving energy sector bankruptcy, litigation and regulatory matters, (3) developing and implementing energy company strategic plans and business expansion initiatives and (4) managing large groups of energy professionals and support staff. Significant Accomplishments ·Acquisition, Development, Finance, Restructuring and Transaction Experience: oAdvised companies in domestic and international energy project and corporate acquisitions and dispositions, with an aggregate transaction value in the billions of dollars. oAssisted sponsors and lenders in the development, project financing and restructuring of hundreds of domestic and international power generation projects. oDeveloped and negotiated groundbreaking commercial agreements for power generation, natural gas supply and LNG projects and electricity and natural gas trading transactions. ·Bankruptcy, Litigation and Regulatory Experience: oDeveloped and implemented successful strategies to address regulatory agency and court decisions that presented impediments to corporate profitability objectives. oNegotiated asset sales, unwinding of contract portfolios and resolution of claims in energy company bankruptcy proceedings. oProposed and achieved revisions to energy laws in numerous countries to facilitate optimal ownership and finance strategies. ·Business Plan Development and Implementation Experience: oAssisted companies with their plans for entering the domestic and international power business and developed strategies to mitigate business, finance and regulatory risks. oCounseled energy companies in development of strategies and evaluation criteria for domestic and international acquisitions and technology investments. ·Management Experience: oResolved budget, personnel and planning matters while serving as Deputy Managing Partner for the 60-person Washington, D.C. office of a global law firm. oManaged hiring, terminations, promotions, budget and business planning while administering Energy and Project Finance Practice Groups for two law firms. oAllocated litigation and advisory assignments and prepared reports on performance, workload allocation and schedules while supervising over 20 attorneys and support staff at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
