WORKSHOP MANAGER – OILFIELD EQUIPMENT REPAIR/MAINTENANCE/FABRICATION

COMPANY INO:

MTQ Corporation Limited Group specialises in engineering services, and is primarily involved in oilfield equipment repairs, maintenance, fabrication and rental operations. MTQ Corporation is listed on the main board of Stock Exchange of Singapore Limited. We are the authorised repair workshop for a number of Oilfield Equipment Manufacturers such as Cooper Cameron, Varco-Shaffer and QVM. We are also accredited to undertake manufacturing and repair in accordance to internationally recognised standards.
The Group has now decided to open an operation in Bahrain which will be its operating hub to service the needs of our clients throughout the GCC as well as the other surrounding regions. As a result, we would like to identify a suitably experienced and qualified candidate for the above new position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the General Manager, the role has a two part function. The initial phase will be to oversee the recently commenced construction of the Workshop facility itself. Working closely with the Contractor, your focus will be to monitor that all construction conforms to the approved specification and be able to provide any technical support detail as and when required by the specialist contractors on site. This will enable a smooth transition from current construction through to final commissioning and eventual handover to MTQ.

Once construction is complete, the second phase will be to plan, organise and manage the Workshop operations entirely. This will include:-

*Full operational responsibility including budget control/profitability
*Production control and planning
*QA/QC within Workshop
*Adherence to industry safety and manufacturing standards
*Generate process travellers according to work orders received from the Sales; ensure travellers are issued on time for every work orders
*Maintain ISO documentation and ensure his team members adhere to procedures
*Provide technical advice and/or jointly involve subordinates in exploring solutions to work problems when arises; resolve work issues within the shortest possible time
*Review production processes and procedures continuously. Adopt latest work methods to be in line with technological changes to enhance production capability and quality output
*Provide technical advice or solutions to customers when problem arises and resolve to meet customer satisfaction
*Coordinate with customer's representatives where necessary
*Enforce safe work practices at the workplace
*Enforce routine housekeeping
*Perform any other related duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor

SKILLS:

*Minimum: Technical/engineering degree
*Minimum 8-10 years experience in engineering environment with at least 5 years in managerial capacity
*Must possess relevant Oilfield equipment manufacturing and/or repair experience
*Knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) Standards and ISO 9001:2000 standard
*Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
