IT-System Administrator Varian serves the medical equipment market as the world's largest manufacturer of integrated cancer treatment systems and premier supplier of X-ray tubes for diagnostic imaging applications. Some 4,500 Varian Clinac medical linear accelerators and Ximatron simulators are in service around the world treating more than a million patients a year. Varian Medical Systems International offers a job opportunity in Bahrain as a IT-System Administrator In this position, you report to the International IT Infrastructure Manager. You provide field office IT support for VMS in the Middle East, including remote support for non-office based customers. Primary location is Bahrain, with frequent travel within the region. Major responsibilities: • As a team member, provide LAN Desktop/laptop support for VMS offices in the Middle East, and to remote sites and customers. Deal with customer problems in an effective and timely manner. Interact with internal customers in a polite and professional manner. • Travel to Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries approximately 25% • Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008 server administration as well as other Microsoft server application administration, including WUS, SCCM, Sharepoint, Exchange 2007 • Microsoft Windows XP/Vista administration for PCs and laptops. Configure both new PCs and laptops and rebuilds • Maintain the local area network and wireless technologies • Maintain local area network integrity via patching procedures • Administer backup operations • PBX telephone system administration • Participate in global IT projects. Attend conference calls and meetings with project team members from around the world • Willingness to adopt a flexible work pattern to ensure that cover is provided during core hours • Act as an IT key holder to provide emergency out of hours cover • Participate in global IT projects Qualifications: • Degree in computer science or equivalent and/or MCSE • Minimum 3 years of related experience • Information Technology: Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with Intel based servers and PCs/laptops. Windows server 2003. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, Exchange 2007, Sharepoint 2007 • Customers: Sound understanding of customers and their requirements • Business Procedures: Sound understanding and application of VMS business procedures • Heath & Safety: Constant training to gain and maintain a sound knowledge and systematically apply national laws and VMS regulations on health & safety in the workplace environment Skills: • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken • GCC Nationality is a must • Ability to travel freely in the Middle East • Must be mature and tactful • Understanding of commercial terms • Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication • Customer service skills • Willing to travel If you are interested and feel qualified, please send us your complete CV including all relevant professional track records and reference letters via E-mail.
