Sr.Engineering-Trans.Lines Patrolling Degree in Electrical Engineering, 8/10 years experience in maintenance planning, routine maintenance of Transmission cables and Over Head Lines, skills in supervision of cable/OHL installation, testing, attending emergencies and having good knowledge of fault locating and fault locating instruments. Shall be familiar with the protection, safety, methods and precautions to be followed during excavation nearby the transmission lines and to organize and supervise patrolling of transmission cable and OHL network. This position is responsible to; • Provide update on strategies and objectives of the Transmission Lines Patrolling unit and prepare suitable initiates, action plans to achieve set target and goals. • Periodic update of newly commissioned lines, and ensure proper distribution of the circuits within the patrolling zones. Periodic update of land marks to ensure maximum patrolling coverage of cable and OHL network. • Identify critical work sites and ensure availability of site supervision at the required locations. Review and study the method statements and work procedures nearby transmission lines to ensure compliance to all the safety requirements. • Review daily patrolling reports of OHL and Cable teams, Engineers observations, get updates from subordinates regarding any action taken to avoid risk nearby transmission lines. • Periodic site visits to major sites and carryout quality audit to ensure implementation of procedures, safety rules and instructions • Prepare violation statistics with proposal and recommendations to direct in-charge in order to avoid/reduce the same. Provide updates on removal of violations. • Ensure optimum utilization of resources with multi skill manpower for patrolling of Cable and OHL lines to increase productivity, efficiency and accuracy. • Ensure preparedness for crises/emergencies. Make proper plans and arrange site drills and find out areas for improvement. Minimize patrolling time, and improve patrolling efficiency. • Supervise training and development needs of immediate employees to meet the departmental objectives. All these roles will be based in the UAE.
